November , Winsford, Cheshire.
After a long day at work and a 5 hour drive from Norfolk we finally arrived at Elm Cottage on the Friday morning, having spent the night in a lay-by almost opposite the entrance.
We quickly got the caravan and the awning set up as the sun came out and provided us with a welcome lazy sunny morning. Just after lunchtime Boogyman (Mike & Kath) arrived, swiftly followed by Dunky (Duncan & Shelly), who had rented the cottage for the weekend. Soon we were joined by ChrisBrooks ( Chris & Pat) and Twin Dragons (Tony & Kids minus Dor).
Friday evening saw us all sit down in the Marquee for the now traditional Fish & Chip supper followed by some general chat and socialising (hic).
Saturday morning we awoke to an overcast day which rapidly turned to intermittent drizzle and rain. We still managed to do some tinkering on the cars with Tony not having any stalks or steering wheel for most of the day. Day visitors arrived over the afternoon, with some staying for the Chinese Auction, Raffle and general merriment into the night. These included Butterbean, Musso Magic, Brutus/Caesar, Spitfire4/Kutie Korando, Mark with the diabetic cat! (sorry don’t know your Log in name).
Sunday came all too soon and it was time to depart in the foggy autumn air. Mike & Kath being the first to go, since they had a boat to catch to sunny Spain to while away the winter months, Bon Voyage you lucky people. When the rest of us were almost ready to go, another Musso appeared which turned out to Scouser (Paul, Gill & Ashley) who had decided to pop down to surprise us all, unfortunately on the first meet when no-one was stopping until Monday. Paul is hoping to be at the Xmas meet if work permits and I know he will warmly welcomed by all.
The long
drive home was tempered by the good weekend we had all enjoyed and once again we
must thank everyone for organising, attending and enjoying it.
Andi.
